I used to write all of my resource boxes like this:

Ashley Coombe, mother of two under two, obviously has a lot of experience with Diaper Bags (this would be a link to my site). blah blah blah…. (I would talk a little bit about myself.)

Then, I realized that no one cares about me or my expertise. They’re not going to click on a link to my site because they know about me! (Again, this isn’t as critical if you’re focusing on using these articles on backlinks, but it’s good to get into practice writing resource boxes that people will click on!) So, I started trying something that would interest readers instead:

Looking for adorable Monogrammed Diaper Bags? (link to my site). Visit TheShoppingBoutique.com. We have hundreds of monogrammed diaper bags, all with Free Shipping!

People would click on this far more often, because they want to go look at diaper bags, with free shipping, not learn more about me. Just because it says “Author Resource Box” does not mean you have to talk about yourself. Promote your product and your site, not yourself!
