If someone clicks on your link and doesn’t sign up on the first visit to our site, but decides a month later they want to sign up, you will still get the commission. Our affiliate program will store your affiliate information for 120 days after the individual clicks on the link, so you have the potential to earn a commission even three months after they visit your site.

Before you get started promoting, let’s clean up your link:

1. Go to bit.ly and enter in your affiliate link (just copy and paste it). You?ll get a code that looks like this: http://bit.ly.x4e93n That will be your new affiliate link. It’s just an easy way to clean up a long ugly web address (url).

When people click on this link (and we’re about to show you where to put it), and sign up to become a member, our software tracks which url led them there. You will get the credit for their purchase, and money will be deposited into the paypal account that you designated when you signed up. Making money could not be easier!!

Now, you’re ready to get started! There are two different ways to start promoting.

1. SOCIAL MEDIA

The easiest way to move forward is to use your existing Social Media to talk about PromotingMom. You can post an update on your Facebook, saying that you?ve become an affiliate for an awesome new program, PromotingMom, and you?d love for your friends to come join you at this community that teaches moms to earn money from home (then include the bit.ly link). If you are a member at any other social networking sites, like Caf? Mom, Twitter Moms or Posh Mom, you could put the information in a post, or in your profile. NOTE: make sure to check the terms of service on each site to make sure you’re not breaking any rules. If you have an existing blog that other moms read, you can put up links to our site on there. If they click on your link and become a member at PromotingMom, you?ll get the commission. Maybe you are on Twitter all the time. This is a great place to talk about PromotingMom! If you like this strategy, and you have a big enough audience, go get started!

However, since this feels a little like pushing Pampered Chef or Mary Kay products on your friends, we’re going to give you some other options as well.

2. ARTICLE MARKETING

Article Marketing has three steps:

Step 1. Use the Google External Keyword Tool and find words that have at least 50 exact searches a month. (Watch This Video to see how to use the Keyword Tool)

Step 2. Make a list of these words that have less than 200 competitors
Do a Google search for ?allintitle: your keyword?. You want to keep keywords with less than 500 competitors. This may not be an easy task, so be creative! We are looking for moms (or anyone!) who want to make money from home, to work from home, who want to learn to leverage the internet for some extra income.

I am going through this process right now, and I have found several phrases that fit the bill. I tried searching for “working from home jobs for moms” (Very long tail keyword!) It receives 22 exact matches a month, and has 123 all in title competitors, so I would write this down on my list and write an article about it (we’ll tell you where to put these articles in just a minute!). Google also gave me several other ideas. The next result was “legitimate work from home jobs for moms.” It has 46 exact searches a month, and 358 all in title competitors. Keep adding these to a list until you have 5-10 (you can do this for thousands of keywords, it just takes a lot of writing!)

Step 3. Create a Landing Page for each of these 5 keywords. Try one of the following options:

-If you have an exisiting blog, simply make this a post, or a page. Use the key phrase in the Title of the post, in the tags, make it its own category. Use the key phrase 3-5 times through the post, in bold or using a heading tag if you can fit it in naturally.

-Set up a blog at wordpress.com (FREE!) and follow the steps above)

-Open up an account on Squidoo, and make a lens using the key phrase as your title, as a heading, and use it 3-5 times throughout your writing. Watch how to do this HERE.

-Post an article on GoArticles, again using the key phrase in your title, and throughout the text

On any of these, write about working from home, what it is like for you, or just about your dreams of someday doing it. At some point in the article, mention that you found PromotingMom and were able to start your work from home journey. Make this word a link, and use your affiliate link as the url.

These initial articles will be your “Money Pages” so they need to be enticing and well written. Keep them around 500-1000 words and entice your reader to click on your link.

Step 4. Build links to your Money Pages This is what will get you to rank #1 for those keywords! The more results there were for the allintitle, the more links you will need. You can see several places to get backlinks here. Make sure you are using your key phrase as your anchor text! You shouldn’t have to build more than 20 backlinks to rank for any of these low competition keywords.

Step 5: Speed it up! If you used any Web 2.0 or articles to build backlinks, ping all the pages that you created. Go to Pinggoat.com and enter in the information to ping all those sites. Get the RSS feeds from each of the pages you built (by clicking on the orange button that shows up on the url line of your browser) submit them to RSS directories, like technorati. Socially bookmark all of the sites using social marker.

This strategy should have you ranking, getting visitors and earning commissions in no time! Keep an eye on your rankings, (search for your key phrase and see where you are ranking) and if you aren’t #1, repeat steps 4 and 5 for that Money Page.

Finally, one more way to start making money right away. I know that some of you need an assured income, immediately. It may be because of a layoff, or a medical emergency that makes cash necessary NOW. You may not be able to wait and hope that your articles make a commission, or even take the time to write them. If this is you, go through one of our training modules, on article writing and distribution. Read our article on Social Bookmarking, and commit it to memory. Read about Blog and Forum Commenting, and become comfortable with the strategies. Learn to write a great Squidoo lens. Then set up a profile on our Marketplace, and get hired to do these jobs for someone else. This will provide an income while you are learning to do the process yourself.

P.S. A new law that just went into effect a couple of weeks ago requires that you tell people you are earning money from the product you are promoting, and that you if you claim to have earned millions doing it, you must disclose that these results are not typical (you know, like on weight loss commercials, they have to say ‘these results are not typical??) If you write an article for the site, you must mention that you are earning money for doing it. Here’s what makes this a beautiful part of the system though. You?ll mention that you’re earning money doing this, and isn’t that what will draw people to become members? They?ll see you’re already earning money!! If they decide to follow in your footsteps and become an affiliate too, you?ll STILL EARN MORE! If they become an affiliate and people sign up under them, you?ll get a 5% commission on that as well!
